Our mission is to foster a powerful, effective, and inclusive movement for environmental justice by connecting leaders from diverse backgrounds and enhancing their influence in key organizational roles.

As part of our commitment to diversity and representation, GLT offers distinct pathways for environmentalists of color to engage with our organization, each tailored to different levels of experience and current roles in environmental advocacy and leadership. To ensure that our community and efforts reflect the diversity of voices necessary for meaningful environmental justice, membership and inclusion in our board talent roster are exclusively available to environmentalists of color.

Choose Your Path:

  1. GLT Membership
    Are you an environmentalist of color who is actively contributing to the environmental or social justice movement? GLT Membership is designed for leaders who are currently serving in significant roles and wish to deepen their impact through collaboration, networking, and strategic engagement with like-minded professionals.

    You are eligible for GLT Membership if you:
    • Currently serve on the board of an environmental, climate, or conservation organization or environmental justice organization;Hold a position on the advisory council of an environmental or social justice organization with a fiscal sponsor; orAre involved in an environmental role on the board of an organization with an intersectional mission that centers, but is not solely focused on, environmental objectives.

  1. Board Talent Roster
    Aimed at nurturing the next generation of leaders, our Board Talent Roster connects aspiring board members with opportunities to serve. Whether you are looking to gain your first board position or seeking to leverage past experiences for new challenges, this roster is your gateway to making a difference.
    You are a fit for the Talent Roster if you:
    • Once served on the board of an environmental or social justice organization but are not currently serving.
    • Have never served on the board of such organizations but are eager to step into a leadership role.
