ABOUT THE POSITIONThe FAS Day One Talent Hub is seeking a fellow for a 1 year term (with potential opportunity to extend) to join the Executive Office of the President (EOP) team within the Council on Environmental Quality (CEQ). The Fellow will coordinate and support implementation of policies related to the Justice40 Initiative that addresses current and historic environmental injustices.WHAT YOU’LL BE DOINGCoordinating, tracking, supporting, and overseeing interagency Justice40 policy and program implementation efforts to address needs and gaps related to: current and historic environmental injustices; the disproportionate impacts of pollution on marginalized, underserved, and overburdened communities; and the need to provide these same communities with greater input on federal policies and decisions;Acting as a liaison with Tribal, State, and local governmental representatives, and Congressional offices on environmental justice issues as they relate to the Justice40 Initiative;Coordinating working groups, conversations, or opportunities related to the Justice40 Initiative with other federal agencies, within the Executive Office of the President, and through the White House Environmental Justice Interagency Council;Assisting with public engagement and outreach efforts, including around capacity-building and technical support, to environmental justice leaders and marginalized communities to advance equitable implementation of the Justice40 Initiative;Preparing Congressional testimony, assisting in responding to Congressional requests, and analyzing proposed legislation on issues relevant to the Justice40 Initiative; andAdvising the Senior Director for Environmental Justice, Director for Environmental Justice, the CEQ Chief of Staff, the CEQ Chair, the White House, and members of the Executive Office of the President on issues related to the Justice40 Initiative.< a href="https://federation-of-american-scientists.rippling-ats.com/job/459605/deputy-director-for-the-justice40-initiative">Leadership Profile< /a>
