< p>As we begin 2023, our tenth anniversary year, we are overjoyed to announce a major new development at the Green Leadership Trust. We successfully on-boarded our inaugural Managing Director, Dany Sigwalt!< /p>< p>Dany is well known in the environmental movement. She joins us after serving as Power Shift Network’s executive director, where she grew the organization from 4 staff< br/>members to 17 over the course of three years. In August, Dany published This Book Will Save the Planet, an intersectional climate justice primer for young change makers. She is from Washington DC, but currently lives in Knoxville, TN, and has an extensive background in grassroots organizing and activism. To learn more about Dany, check out this interview of her by the Washington Informer.< /p>< p>We have already felt the impact of Dany’s visionary leadership, systems thinking, and community rooted analysis. Dany hit the ground running – fine-tuning our policies and procedures to strengthen our organizational capacities. Dany is skillfully working with our community as we update our communications and data analysis tools with the introduction of Slack and Airtable. Her network weaving expertise is helping to position us for engaging young BIPOC leaders interested in Board service. We look forward to convening and a GLT panel at the April Power Shift Conference. Her strategic lens will guide us in our tenth anniversary planning and beyond.< /p>< p>We started a decade ago as a handful of Black, Brown and Indigenous leaders on Big Green Boards. We are transitioning from an effective volunteer driven network to a full capacity staff with the skills needed to complement the work of our amazing members. Thank you for trusting your leadership team on this journey. The best is yet to come!< br/>Wishing you a happy, healthy, and justice centered 2023.< /p>
